Sail Away

This brings back some memories, right girls? Sailing this weekend would be so much fun with the family. I would love to be having a clam bake, swimming off the boat, discovering fun islands to explore. Sailing has always been a part of our family time. We have all piled on board and had a blast. Quarters like these would be just stunning and oh so comfortable. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Olivier in St. Helena

Last year for Cassandra's graduation when we were all out in San Francisco, we took a day trip up to Napa Valley to visit some of the vineyards and shops. While we were very pleasantly surprised at the rolling hills and stunning homes (which reminded us all of Tuscany) we were equally excited about the fine gourmet olive oil shop Olivier. 

We all walked in and were overwhelmed with the selection of olive oils, mustards and vinegars. The best part was that there was a section of self-serve olive oils in which you could pour your own bottle of olive oil from locally grown olives! Just looking at these images reminds me of the gorgeous day we had.

And we couldn't do this post without saying thank you to Cassandra's very sweet boyfriend Roger, for sending us some Olivier Olive Oil and Garlic spread for 

Christmas last year. It was such a wonderful surprise to get that in the mail!

The Summer House

When we go on vacation the style of house we look for is cottage. This summer house in Sconset is just the kind of vacation you look for. A cottage style with all the charm of old world Nantucket.

A little eye candy for you today; I found this Interior Design firm- Armonia Decors and Emily Ruddo in the July/August edition of High Gloss Magazine and am just swooning over all of their interiors. They categorized the following interiors as Traditional Glamour and Modern Elegance. I do have to say, my new favorite design would be the Traditional Glamour!

It is a beautiful day in the White Mountains today!

Falling Waters

Ok, so it is hot today and expected to be for the rest of the weekend. We are hoping to visit one of these amazing waterfalls over the weekend to cool off.. Most of the year you could only put your toes in one of these waterfalls because the water is so cold. Now, they are only cool, refreshing and swimming will be in order. We hope everyone finds somewhere cool. Have a great weekend.

HB Kitchen of the Year 2011

Last week we posted on the floor plans and design of House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year built in Rockefeller Center, we still think this is such an amazing feat. It is now up and running to view. It has a stunning open feel with warm woods and tones of out door eating areas. The main focus of the kitchen is to be able to interact with people. The kitchen is not closed off so that when you are cooking your back is facing your guest and friends. What a great way to cook and entertain. Wonderful job Tyler Florence.
