Fall Wreath

This Thanksgiving marks the first year that I will be hosting

the holiday. I'm really looking forward to it! As the day gets closer, 

I've started to transition the apartment to a bit more of a fall look. 

And I'm thinking that a wreath is really going to make it

festive around here. 

Since it's a bit early to get a holiday wreath, 

some sort of fall wreath will be perfect. I'm really 

loving the idea of making one myself. Do any of you

hang fall wreaths?

On top of the Console

Designing an interior can be so challenging sometimes. The color of the room, what type of furniture to use, how the furniture will fit into the space are all a bit of a wonderful puzzle. One of the most inspiring parts of design is deciding on the accessories for dressing up a console in an interior. This has to be one of our most rewarding aspects. It is fun to play with shapes, sizes, colors and textures.

Lucas Studio Bachelor Pad

They might be calling this a bachelor pad in the November issue

of House Beautiful, but I think any girl would be lucky to 

call this gorgeous place home. 

West Hollywood based design firm, Lucas Studio, created 

this unbelievable home for a professional hockey player.

The house has a perfect lived in feeling. And the quiet blue 

color scheme, even in the kitchen makes you want to instantly relax. 

When can we move in?

Shelburne Farm

We spent one glorious blue sky day with no clouds in sight at Shelburne Farms in Burlington VT. When we  drove up to the visitor center entrance gate we had no idea the vast expanses of beauty that awaited us.

 Once we entered the farm the sweeping views of pastoral land were all spectacular. Shelburne farm is a 1,400 acre working farm created by the vision and resources of the Webb/Vanderbilt family, that encourages sustainable farming. The farm is a learning farm with programs for children and adults from all over the world. There is a herd of 125 Brown Swiss cattle that produce milk that is made into award winning farm house cheese. The farm supports and supplies all vegetables, meats, cheese and wine to the Inn on the property. There is a stunning Inn, which was the original house used by the family, with 25 guest rooms. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with brunch on Sunday. It has 4 cottages tucked away on the property. The Inn overlooks Lake Champlain with views of the Adirondack Mountain range. We are still talking about the size and beauty of the barns and the main house. The estate was owned and built in 1886 by Dr. William Seward and Lila Vanderbilt Webb.

West Elm Picks

I recently found myself browsing through the West Elm catalogue and saw a few things that really caught my eye. There were accessories for the upcoming holidays (some really fun ones for Halloween) as well as some great gift ideas that I am going to store away until Christmas shopping begins.  The duvet cover and quilt would really brighten up my bedroom. Since these are my picks, I obviously like them all, but the reindeer candles are hands down my favorite!

Windsor Smith

How about a little inspiration? You know how you have favorite designers? When you see their work you just go wow! Love it. That feeling of excitement and awe. That somehow they never seem to fail. Windsor Smith is one of those designers for us. We have a pretty long list of designers that inspire us, and it is always fun to share their work.

Mason Jars

Last week, my boyfriend and I went out to dinner and like I often do 

when I go to a restaurant, I order either gingerale or sprite. I don't keep it in

the house, so it is always a treat. We were served our drinks in large

ball mason jars. It was such a fun twist, and of course, the first thing I did was

head to my pinterest account. There were so many great ideas for using mason jars

for weddings or holding flowers, engraving or even for organizing throughout

your bathroom, kitchen or bathroom. I love the idea of using a stencil and painting

chalkboard paint in a fun pattern on the front for either a party, to keep drinks separate or 

for place settings for weddings. The possibilities seem to be endless and the best part?
