We are so smitten with New England. This house is a big part of all the
East Coast colonialism, who came to America, first kind of stuff.
This is an 18th century cape renovation. As much of the integrity of the house
was left intact as possible. The good bones of the house were left and the
beams were exposed by opening the plaster in the ceiling. The original floors
in the house were hand scraped and waxed and not sanded by machine.
This house is a serious example of a beautiful historic renovation.

Love the simplicity of this wonderful home. I had pinned the sitting area in front of the fireplace a couple of days ago. It is so nice to see the rest of this home. thanks for posting this! Kathysue
Gorgeous!
While not every home owner has the time, energy, or desire to renovate an old house, some people get great joy out of renewing a priceless piece of history. Home renovation is in itself a challenge, and this challenge is certainly greater when you're working on an old house.
