Getting Back into a Workout

I will be attending my first Bar/Yoga class, the first

of its kind in a while. I am super excited to get back

into class workouts like this, but realized, I need to amp up my 

workout gear...and that I needed a water bottle that could keep 

me hydrated throughout!

New Beach House

Lynn Morgan has helped transform this beautiful home in one of our favorite coastal towns on the North Shore of Boston, Manchester-By-The-Sea. The home owners wanted Lynn to reflect the seaside setting of the house. She is definitely the designer to do this! She is able to use her great style that we have seen time and time again in Rowayton, Darien and up on the Islands. She has just the right amount of nautical style without being over the top. Throughout the house, Lynn used the colors turquoise, green, navy and white to give the house a light and airy feel. We also really like the natural fibers she uses which are seen in lampshades and chairs. 

The kitchen island looks like it is designed for a galley of a ship.

Getaway to Healdsburg's H2 Hotel

The fall and winter season is always a fun packed time for all of us Coles. With birthdays and holidays we are always planning fun adventures. For me out in San Francisco it's always an extra bit special, as right after Thanksgiving is my anniversary with the boyfriend! This year we jumped at the chance to do something special, when there was a fabulous deal at the H2 Hotel. 

Located in Healdsburg, about an hour and a half drive from San Francisco, it's the perfect place to escape to. The hotel prides itself on being a green hotel, even with a living roof with succulent plants. They have a gorgeous restaurant, Spoonbar and we also hope to be able to take advantage of the spa!

The rooms are so perfectly designed, with simple elements. Even the bathrooms are clean and gorgeous, with all white subway tiles from Heath Ceramics. And each bathroom features a japanese style plunge tub. 

And the part I'm most excited about? Each guest gets a three hour rental of the hotels fleet of Public bikes. You can cruise around the streets of Healdsburg, even maybe stopping into a winery along the way.

Trend 2 {Colorful Tops}

Everywhere i've been lately, there have been colorful tops
lining the racks. These aren't just for spring and summer, but 
as a way to brighten up your fall wardrobe. I have been on the lookout
for some great new colors and these definitely fit the bill!

Elaborate Walls

There is something so enthralling and exciting to us about elaborate walls. 

We have to say, when we see an apartment like Alex Papachristidis's in Manhattan,

 the excitiment level about decorating is very high. 

There is just something indescribable about the energy it has. 

A richness and style is achieved through the use of wallpaper and fabric on the walls. 

The foyer in this apartment is covered in a Lee Jofa linen and the dining room is covered in a 

Jab wool fabric with nail heads. Our favorite is the en suite in the dressing room, 

which is a Manuel Canovas cotton fabric on the walls and upholstery. 

The bedroom walls are covered in a Sandberg wallpaper. 

What a fantastic apartment, it has such warmth, style and depth. 

What a great way to decorate!

Thom Filicia's Lake House in House Beautiful

There is nothing we love more than a gorgeous vacation home. Thom Filicia's lake house is absolutely 

no exception. Every detail is so beautifully thought out. The Phillip Jeffries wallpaper used and the beautiful herringbone fabrics are our favorite details. We'd love to spend a weekend here cozied up enjoying 

family and friends!

Nate Berkus News

Nate Berkus is in this month's Architectural Digest,

showing us the before and afters of his stunning Manhattan Duplex in Greenwich Village. 

The apartment was pulled together in three short months and features all new 

flooring and added interior doors to give dimension and defined space to the apartment. 

Nate has also designed a fabulous line of accessories and textiles for Target, 

debuting October 21st. We love it when target selects Designers to feature in the store. 

Nate will join some of our favorites like Victoria Hagan and 

Thomas O'Brien that have also designed furniture, accessories and textiles.

 When staging and designing, we have used their pieces time and time again. 

It is so much fun to have a designer that you love their work 

and that you are able to purchase their designs at a reasonable price. 

We will all be on the look out for Nate's new line. The green and white 

tortoise shells are at the top of my list. This is why we love Nate!

This first image is of the apartment before, the whole interior was white washed brick. 

This of course was changed which can be seen in the after images. 

The Kitchen cabinets were saved and painted in a high gloss black 

Farrow and Ball paint and brass hardware was added. 

The powder room is unique with it's Piero Fornasetti wallpaper by Cole and Son. 

This whole apartment is yet a again a fine example of the talent and taste of Nate Berkus.

 We all can read and admire his excellent work seen throughout his new book out Oct 16th. 

We are all so excited to examine and learn from this new book. 

The title is The Things That Matter by Nate Berkus.

Inexpensive Brass Lighting

One of my favorite design elements to incorporate is a touch of brass. It adds that bit of natural warmness that really makes a room look cozy and well lived in. And a great way to bring it into a home
